Onika Maraj (Born December 8, 1984) known as Nicki Minaj is a female rapper from Southside Jamaica, Queens, NewYork. She grew up in a troubled home, with a father on drugs and a struggling single mother. Despite her hectic environment, Minaj went on to graduate from LaGuardia High School in Manhattan where she studied singing and acting.

Working as an administrative assistant, she dedicated all of her free time to pursuing a potential music career. Nicki Minaj started off singing, from background vocals, to hooks for local rappers. Minaj wanted to “stand out” more, from the average dime-a-dozen young aspiring singer and began writing raps. Starting out as the lone female in a group, (which she left in 2006)

Nicki soon branched out and was noticed on Myspace by Dirty Money CEO Fendi. Who signed her and put her on the front of his Dirty Money Label, and his The Come Up DVD.

Appearing on The Carter Edition of the DVD series, Minaj was noticed by rapper Lil’ Wayne who immediately called Fendi to negotiate meeting Nicki. He was convinced by not only her different style of rapping, but her ability to full on write her own material that she was perfect to be the face of his Young Money label. The two collaborated on mixtape styled remakes of tracks such as “Sunshine”, “Big Spender” and more recently a song entitled “Higher than a Kite” which uses T.I.’s “My Swag” beat. In April of 2007, she released her first mixtape entitled Playtime is Over. Where she posed as a Barbie doll on the cover. Lil’ Wayne appeared on the track “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”.

Nearly a year later, Minaj released her second mixed cd titled Sucka Free. Controversy surrounded this as Nicki paid tribute to rapper Lil’ Kim by posing with her legs spread for promotional posters. She describes it as something to “pull people in”, so that they would listen to what she had to say. Nicki Minaj graced the pages of the July issue of the XXL magazine giving a brief overview of her life up to that point in time.

Originally using her real last name Maraj, Nicki boasts she started calling herself Minaj because she started “eating chicks”, with her vicious rap skills. Its pronounced as Menage, only spelled to compliment her real last name with a J instead of the traditional spelling.

Aside from her original moniker, Minaj also uses an array of Aka aliases to describe herself, such as; “Nicki Lewenski”, and “AKA Sit on your favorite rapper’s face”

He started to develop the series in 1996 following Rocko's Modern Life's, and pitched the series to Nickelodeon in 1998 and was later greenlit for a first season.
The pilot episode of SpongeBob SquarePants first aired episodes in the United States on Nickelodeon on May 1, 1999, following the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The first episodes were called "Help Wanted", "Reef Blower", "Tea at the Treedome". The "official" series premiere followed on July 17, 1999, with the second episode, "Bubblestand/Ripped Pants." The show reached enormous popularity by 2000 and has remained popular since. A feature film of the series was released in theaters on November 19, 2004. The series is currently in its seventh season and celebrated its tenth anniversary on July 17, 2009. SpongeBob was renewed for a ninth season on January 3, 2011,and the traditional definition of season is different for this series and defines more that episodes are ordered for future airing rather than they will be aired throughout one calendar year.

   Lee Min Ho (Korean: 이민호) is a South Korean model turned actor who is most notable for his leading role as the leader of F4, Goo Joonpyo, in the Korean adaptation of the popular manga series, Hana Yori Dango, named Boys Over Flowers, in 2009.

His first acting debut was in 2005, in MBC's Love Hymn, appearing as a small character. His first lead role came in 2007, starring as Cha Gong Chan in SBS's Mackerel Run, an 8-part high-school drama.

However, his first big career break came when he was announced to be part of the Korean F4 on October 2, 2008, successfully getting the biggest role as F4's leader, Tsukasa Domyouji, from the manga Hana Yori Dango. His role was named Goo Joonpyo in the Korean version, and he stars with actress Koo Hye Sun and SS501's Kim Hyun Joong. The drama first aired on January 5, 2009 on KBS as a Monday-Tuesday miniseries.

KOREAN FOOD=KIMBAP

Vegetable Kimbap

Kimbap is similar to sushi roll. Vegetable Kimbap especially tastes similar to California roll. You can buy Kimbap at a Kimbap store, and there is one on nearly every corner of the street in Korea. (Kimbap is available from 1000 won (US $ 1.05) at the shop.)
Kimbap is very popular as a picnic meal. There are lots of variations of kimbap, however I’m going to show you how to make vegetable kimbap today. It is quite simple to follow.


Ingredients for 2 people

• Laver 4 sheets
• Steamed rice for 2 people
• 4 Yellow radish strips
• 2 Crab sticks
• 4 sticks of BBQ Kimbap ham (Kimbap ham is long and easy to slice. Because it is made for Kimbap)
• 3 stalks of spinach
• 1/5 a carrot
• 6 long sticks of seasoned edible burdock root
• 3 eggs
• Some sesame oil
• Some salt

Preparation (It will take about 15 minutes)

1. Cut the crab sticks in half. (Length ways, it will give you a total 4 sticks.)
2. Cut the carrots into long thin slices. (I need 6 sticks.)
3. Rinse the spinach and parboil it in boiled water. (For 1 minute)
4. Put the spinach into a bowl. Add 2 sprinkles of salt and 1 dash of sesame oil on spinach then mix it well.
5. Beat one egg in a bowl. Fry the egg in a pan and make the egg stick by rolling it. (It is better if you can make it thin.) Do the same with rest of the eggs.

6. Cook the carrots, crab sticks and BBQ ham in a pan with a little oil. (You can use un-cooked ones, but I prefer cooked ones.)
7. Put all the ingredients on one plate. It makes it easy to roll.

8. Add 2 dashes of sesame oil and 2 sprinkles of salt on the rice. Mix it well.

• During the process of no 5 and 6 I used the same pan and I didn’t rinse or wash it.

Making (It will take about 10 minutes)

1. Place one laver on the bamboo mat. (Actually you don’t really need a mat. I hardly use it.)
2. Put the rice on the laver. You need to spread it thinly. (I use my fingers and rice spatula.)
3. Put two burdock sticks, two carrot sticks, crab stick, ham, yellow radish, egg stick (all one each), and some spinach in the middle of the rice.
4. Roll it. (If the laver doesn’t stick, paste some water at the edge.

5. Once you made rolls, paste some sesame oil onto the laver surface (just little bit) and slice them.

6. Serve it on the plate.

I expected to make 3 big rolls which is just enough for two of us, but there was some seasoned rice left over, so I had to make 1 small roll extra.

Move over Pharrell Williams. Music and streetwear impresario Nigo has a new creative partner: Hello Kitty.
The designer behind the cult brand A Bathing Ape has just struck a licensing deal with Sanrio, the parent company of Hello Kitty, to develop its Baby Milo character into a range of novelty items and accessories. But the companies’ partnership could conceivably extend well past vinyl tote bags and plush toys. Representatives on both sides indicated — albeit in a half-joking manner — that if the pair take a real shine to each other, Sanrio might even consider investing in the edgy label known for its colorful sneakers, quirky T-shirts and camouflage jackets, mainly for men.
Ray Hatoyama, Sanrio’s San Francisco-based chief operating officer, said the Japanese company would be “potentially” interested in buying a stake in Bape’s business. “Maybe,” he laughed, adding his job’s responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions. “I’m open to anything.”
Meanwhile, Bape’s founder and designer, Nigo, whose real name is Tomoaki Nagao, acknowledged he’s open to the idea of selling a stake in his company, Nowhere Co. Ltd., if the right opportunity comes along.
“I am always flexible. For example, I might think it to be a good idea if Sanrio were to say, have a 40 percent stake,” he said with a chuckle.
Nowhere developed the Baby Milo character, a young gorilla with a circular head and an orange face, in 2000 and has featured his likeness on apparel and accessories for both children and adults.
“In the character goods business, Sanrio is a pro among pros. I’ve taken really good care of the Baby Milo character thus far, and with this new opportunity I would like to see him become a [Japan-wide] character,” said Nigo, who also runs his own record label as well as the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream clothing brands in partnership with Williams.
Hatoyama said he thinks Baby Milo will help Sanrio, known for its girly cast of characters, to win over more boys and young male fans.
Sanrio’s initial product lineup, which will be expanded over time, consists of about 40 items, including children’s flip-flops, vinyl tote bags, a tent and a folding chair. The collection, which bows in April, will be sold at about 300 Sanrio stores and other sales points in Japan, but not at Bape’s own stores.

World Bank pegs Japan losses at $120-230 billion

The impact of the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan over a week ago could be great, though it will be for a short period, World Bank chief economist and senior vice-president Justin Yifu Lin said on Monday.

"It is a little bit too early to give an accurate estimate to the economic loss of the earthquake and ensuing tsunami," he said, adding that the loss could be between 2.5 to 4 per cent of Japan's GDP (Gross Domestic Product), or $120-230 billion.

In the short term, the loss could be great, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua quoted him as saying in an interview.

"The international financial market is sensitive to disasters. Appreciation of the yen and the drop of foreign trade in Japan would also affect the economy of some other countries," he said.
Northeastern Japan, which was severely struck by the quake and tsunami, is a major base for auto production and many of Japan's auto manufacturers shut down after the earthquake.
Steel plants have also been affected, according to earlier reports.
However, Lin noted that post-quake reconstruction efforts would give a boost to Japan's economy and it would soon recover.
"After a year, Japan's imports will return to the level as before the quake, while its exports will rebound to 80 per cent," Lin said.

step to make korean style ramen

1. Get your favorite type of ramen. Use Samyang or Nong Shim, or any Korean brand for authenticity. Cheaper, thinner deep-fried noodles such as Top Ramen are not recommended.

 Boil about 2 cups of water, more or less if you like plenty of soup base or little.

(Optional) Add a pinch of garlic powder, pepper, chili pepper to water.

Snap the ramen noodles in half and add them in with any leftover flakes, this makes it easier to stir and boil faster.

Add soup base and vegetables that come packaged after you put the ramen in.

Stir frequently. You don't want the flavor to bunch up in one place, or the noodles to get stuck to the pot.

Add anything you find that will be good to the ramen! Favorites are: Spam, cut-up hot dogs, dried salted seaweed, and egg. Also I love adding a squeeze of lime just to bring up the flavor of the broth a bit. Don't forget to add green onion; it gives the ramen a fresh taste.

Pour into a bowl, serve with chopsticks and enjoy with your favorite kimchi or banchan.
